Norwegian Tariff Minimums (effective 15 June 2025)

Norway has no national minimum wage, but the construction sector is covered by allmenngjøring — a legally binding extension of the collective agreement enforced by Arbeidstilsynet. Every carpenter on a Norwegian site must earn at least:

• Skilled carpenter (faglært): NOK 264.32/hour (≈ €23/hour)
• Unskilled with 1+ year experience: NOK 249.00/hour (≈ €21.60/hour)
• Unskilled, no experience: NOK 239.61/hour (≈ €20.80/hour)
• Workers under 18: NOK 162.44/hour (≈ €14/hour)
• Overtime (skilled, +40% statutory): minimum NOK 369.00/hour

Monthly and Annual Earnings (Gross)

A standard Norwegian working week is 37.5 hours, which works out to roughly 162 base hours per month. At the skilled tariff that gives a base monthly minimum of about NOK 42,800 (≈ €3,720). Most experienced foreign carpenters negotiate well above the floor — typical gross monthly is €4,000-€5,500, and with regular overtime experienced workers often reach €5,500-€6,500/month. Annual gross commonly lands between €48,000 and €78,000 including overtime, plus 12% holiday pay (feriepenger) paid out separately each June by law.
